FFP-masks without valve

FFP-masks (Filtering Face Pieces) offer protection against particulate pollutants such as aerosol, dust and smoke. In Europe, these masks are standardized according to EN 149:2001+A1:2009 for protective properties for the wearer.

The FFP-masks without valve offer both external and internal protection.

Unlike the surgical masks, which are classified in the medical field, the FFP masks fall under the category of PPE (personal protective equipment). It is therefore mandatory to declare these as "non medical". Nevertheless, thanks to their high protective function, the FFP masks offer reliable respiratory protection in the medical field as well as in many other areas such as the food, wood ans steel industries.

There are three different protection levels FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3. The filter performance depends on the protection class. A distinction is made between these three levels of protection as follows:

FFP1-masks filter at least 80%, FFP2-masks at least 94% and FFP3-masks at least 99% of the test aerosol. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Robert-Koch-Institute recommend at least protection level two for the medical field.

Before putting on the masks, you should wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water or a suitable disinfectant. You should then put on the mask so that it completely covers your mouth and nose so that there is no gap between your face and mask.
