MNP-masks
The MNP-mask (other names: medical mouth and nose protection, respiratory protection mask or face mask) is a medical product with the intention of reducing the transmission of pathogens through droplet infection. These are mainly used for external protection, but correct use can increase self-protection. They consist of three-layer filter material, medical non-woven fabric and ultra-fine fibers. The MNP-masks are only available with rubber loops. In Europe, the masks are standardized according to EN 149683:2019 for protective properties for the wearer.
There are three different protection levels Type I, Type II and Type IIR. Only protection level Type IIR meets the OP standard. The filter performance depends on the protection class. A distinction is made between these three protection levels as follows:
MNP-masks type I filter at least 95%, MNP-masks type II at least 98% and surgical-masks type IIR at least 98% of the test aerosol. In addition, the surgical-masks type IIR differ in the pressure difference with <60 Pa/cm² compared to the MNP-masks type I and II with a pressure difference of <40 Pa/cm². Furthermore, the type IIR surgical masks differ in the pressure of the spray resistance with >= 16.0 kPa, while this is not applicable to the type I and II surgical masks. A value of <=30 CFU/g is assumed for all of the microbiological purity.
Before putting on the masks, you should wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water or a suitable disinfectant. You should then put on the mask so that it completely covers your mouth and nose so that there is no gap between your face and mask. A flexible nose clip ensure that the mask fits securely and comfortably.
Please note that these are disposable masks and should only be worn by one person. MNP-masks The MNP-mask (other names: medical mouth and nose protection, respiratory protection mask or face mask) is a medical product with the intention of reducing the...
